Find out general information about hair loss
Humans have approximately 150,000 scalp hairs which do not grow evenly. Each hair has its own growth cycle with three different phases.
Approximately 80-90% of hairs are in the growing phase (anagenic) which varies from four to eight years.
Normally 10-20% of our hair is in the resting phase (telogenic) which lasts about three to four months.
The transition phase (catagenic) is the last of the hair growth cycle and takes about 2 weeks. This means that hair growth has ceased and that the individual hair gradually falls off the scalp never to grow back again.

1. Growing phase / anagenic
2. Resting phase / telogenic
3. Transition phase / catagenic
4. New hair growth begins
Normal hair loss is between 50 and 100 hairs each day and after a few weeks hair will regrow from most of the follicles. A full head of hair can number more than 150,000 hairs.
Many different factors have an influence on the growth, regrowth and condition of the hair. The most important of these are age, the hormonal status of the individual, stress, diet, hereditary and physical conditions and factors affecting blood circulation.

Although it is possible to affect hair growth and hair loss, many contributing factors are still unknown and that’s why it has been difficult to come up with a final hair loss solution to stop balding. Even though some surgical and mechanical solutions exist to hide hair loss no wonder drug or method has been invented to stop balding.

Some experts believe that increased hair loss is due to scalp hair follicles not getting the essential nutrients required for healthy hair growth. The result is slow hair growth; individual strands become thinner and wispy before ceasing to grow at all. In this state the hair follicles become dormant but are still intact in the scalp. When the follicles receive the essential nutrients, new hair may start to grow again. The most effective way of providing the follicles with the essential nutrients for healthy hair growth is through the bloodstream by taking tablets orally.
